          measuring spoons.
        SURFACE
          PREPARATION:
Follow standard practices and procedures for properly preparing surfaces
for the application of traditional water-based latex paint. The surface
should be free of imperfections, sealed with a primer-sealer, and have
a low sheen. If it is not, fill cracks and nail holes (ShimmerStone
will also work well as a filler.) All surfaces to be painted must be
entirely free of dust, dirt, oil, grease, and other contaminants. Completely
remove all loose, flaking, or chalking paint from the surfaces. Use
a NIOSH approved respirator when sanding and when working with old,
loose paint particles. Provide adequate ventilation. Properly prime
the clean, dry surface with either Zinsser Bulls Eye Water Base or Zinsser
Bulls Eye 1-2-3® Deep Tint primer-sealer, following the label directions.
TIP: Tint the primer-sealer to a similar hue as the ShimmerStone™
base color using the ShimmerStone™ Color Concentrates.
        Tinting

The 15 ShimmerStone™ Color Concentrate designer colors are available

to pastel-light. Choose the desired colors from either the ShimmerStone™
Color Deck or brochure. Each represented color will show the color name
and the amount of Color Concentrate to add per gallon. All the hues
have been created using ordinary kitchen measuring spoons. If yet deeper
colors are desired, simply add one or more full tubes of color per gallon.

          (TINTING
NOTES: Metallic Paint Collection™ metallic paints vary in color
strength and intensity always test before mixing large quantities, do
not exceed 12 oz of paint per gallon, and do not store ShimmerStone
and Metallic Paint Collection mixtures; do not exceed 8 oz of Universal
          Tint Colorants per gallon).
        Applying
          ShimmerStone:
ShimmerStone™ can be applied with a wide variety of tools, creating
numerous beautiful finishes. To achieve a layered stone look, use the
following 3-step application method. The base coat of ShimmerStone™
should be the deepest hue, and then one or more lighter hues are applied
          over the base coat.
          Step 1–Base Coat
With a stainless steel trowel apply a thin, uniform coat of ShimmerStone™
base color to entire surface using broad sweeping strokes and firm pressure.
Allow product to completely dry, approximately 1 hour.
          Step 2 –Texture Coat
Transfer some of the base color to a paint roller tray. Dampen the ShimmerStone™
Natural Sea Sponge Mini Roller and squeeze out excess water. Work in
sections. Using the roller, lightly load it with the base color and
randomly roll product over the surface in all directions, covering approximately
75% of the section’s surface. While product is still wet, use
the trowel to “knock-down” peaks, by gently pulling across
the surface, holding the trowel at a very low angle (25-30 degrees).
The surface will now have some texture, consisting of raised and recessed
areas. Allow product to completely dry, approximately 2-3 hours.
          Step 3 –Skim Coat
Apply a skim coat of ShimmerStone™ in a different color or a lighter
hue. The more contrast in color or hue, the more dramatic the effect.
Work in sections. Load the trowel with product and using firm pressure,
skim over the texture coat, pulling the trowel tight and towards you
in an arc, approximately 8” in length. “Feather out”
the edge of the section by rolling the Natural Sea Sponge Mini Roller,
loaded with ShimmerStone™, into the edge, so that no hard lines
are visible. This technique will help avoid lap marks, hard edges or
build-up due to double application of product. Continue process until
entire surface is coated. Around doorframes and in tight areas, use
a small putty knife to pull and smooth out excess ShimmerStone™.
Allow product to completely dry, approximately 1-2 hours.
        Cleaning
          ShimmerStone™ Surfaces:
ShimmerStone cures to a durable, water-resistant coating; a clear top-coat
is not needed. It can be cleaned with soap and water or a mild household
cleaner using light scrubbing. However, harsh or abrasive cleansers,
including the ‘soft scrub’ abrasive cleansers, should not
be used, as they are likely to polish or change the appearance of the
          surface.
        Film
Properties (Drying times at 70°F and 50%RH):
          Dry
Times: Dry-to-touch time is approximately 1 to 2 hours. Full cure is
          in
approximately 2 to 3 days.Note: Lower temperature and/or higher humidity
and a higher applied film thickness will lengthen the dry and cure times.
        Coverage:
One gallon will cover approximately 90 to 140 square feet.
        Clean
Up: Clean brushes, rollers, tools, and equipment with soap and warm
water immediately after use. Do not reuse containers and properly dispose
          of empty containers.
