PRODUCT
          DESCRIPTION:
Metal Effects Acid Blocking Primer (AM203) is a unique water-based acrylic
primer. Unlike other primers, it is especially formulated to block Metal
Effects Patina Aging Solutions and Activators from reaching the metal,
wood, or reactive substrate. This helps prevent the formation of rust
or other oxidation products, and helps block tannic acids (contained
in wood) from rising to the finished surface.
        SURFACE
          PREPARATION:
Before applying Metal Effects Metallic Paints, the previously coated
surface must be completely clean, dry, and fully cured. Remove all loose,
peeling paint. Patch and repair any surface imperfections before using
the Metal Effects Acid Blocking Primer. All surfaces should be sound,
clean, free of oil, grease, wax, and other contaminants, and completely
dry prior to priming. Surfaces previously primed require light sanding.
Scuff sand any glossy surfaces. Stir well before and occasionally during
application. Do not thin the Acid-Blocking Primer.
Apply the Acid-Blocking Primer as the last step in surface preparation
before the application of the Metal Effects Metallic paints. Some metal
surfaces, such as bare aluminum, galvanized iron, or rough metals, will
need a metal primer or an anti-corrosive primer applied before the application
of Metal Effects Acid Blocking Primer. Clean and prime the metal per
          the metal primer label instructions.

Important Note: DO NOT use Metal Effects Acid Blocking Primer under
the Metal Effects Baroque Metallic Paint.

The Metal Effects Acid Blocking Primer is especially formulated to block
out alkali salts, tannins, acid salts, or other unwanted contaminates
from ‘bleeding through’ to the Metal Effects Metallic Paint
film and causing adverse reactions and unwanted color changes with the
metallic particles in the Metal Effects Metallic Paints. If unsure of
the substrate, test a sample area to ensure the desired results. Apply
at least two coats of Metal Effects Acid Blocking Primer to completely
seal and block the surface. When painting over bare metal, a metal primer
probably will be needed as a first coat.

        APPLICATION:
Modern Masters Metal Effects Acid Blocking Acrylic Primer can be brush,
roll, or spray applied. Use brushes and rollers appropriate for water-based
primers. Use an HVLP spray gun powered by an air compressor or quality
          airless sprayer for spraying.
Important Note: Do not use a turbine “air compressor”
to power the HVLP spray gun. When spraying, use a properly fitting,
NIOSH approved breathing air mask fitted with an organic vapor cartridge.
Note: Do not mix this primer paint with any other paint,
          extender, or additive.

          Coverage:One gallon/3.78 liters will cover approximately 300 sq. feet/28.8
          sq. meters.
        Film
          Properties:

Drying time at 70°F and 50%RH: Re-coat time is in approximately
½ hour; dry time is in approximately one hour; full cure is in
approximately 24 hours. Lower temperature and higher humidity will lengthen
          the dry and cure times.

Clean Up: Clean brushes, rollers, tools, and equipment with warm, soapy
          water immediately after use.
